A huge fire, which reached fifth alarm, razed a residential area in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Tuesday noon, 2 August.
The blaze located in Fogoso St. at the back of Central Market started around 1:05 p.m. Authorities raised the fifth alarm after 30 minutes.

It was declared fire under control around 2:54 p.m., according to SSupt. Crosbee Gumowang of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Most of the houses gutted were built from light materials.
A total of 24 fire trucks responded while two ambulances from the Manila LGU were dispatched.
There were no reported injuries or casualties as of posting time. Investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
