Eight persons were arrested and nearly P345,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized by police in successive buy-bust operations in Taguig and Muntinlupa.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg announced on Tuesday that the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a buy-bust operation along Faculty Street in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig, which led to the arrest of Freddie Madrazo Jr., 41, and Irene Antazo, 44. Seized during the operation were 16 plastic sachets containing 15.7 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P106,760, and the P300 buy-bust money.
The SPD’s DEU operatives, together with the District Investigation Division and District Mobile Force Battalion, conducted another buy-bust operation on Ipil-Ipil Street in Barangay Lower Bicutan Taguig where three suspects — Allan Paglicawan, 44; Ryan Dela Fuente, 37; and Alejandro Patricio Reyes, 37 – were arrested. The police also seized five plastic sachets containing 20 grams of suspected shabu valued at P136,000, and the P500 buy-bust money.
On 3 August, DEU operatives conducted a buy-bust operation in Muntinlupa at the PNR Site in Barangay Putatan, where police arrested Ronald Natividad, 40; Arwin Villamor, 33; and Erwin Cadalin, 26. Four plastic sachets with 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at P102,000 were also confiscated, along with the P500 buy-bust money.
All eight suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The suspected illegal drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
Macaraeg commended the anti-drug operatives for their work in the fight against illegal drugs and vowed to further intensify the district’s anti-illegal drug operations.
