Juvic Pagunsan’s putter went cold as he struggled to one-over par 72 in the second round of the Japan PGA Championship at the Grand Fields Country Club in Shizuoka, Japan Friday.
The 44-year-old veteran slipped to a share of 10th spot on 4-under 138, three shots behind the Japanese quartet of Mikumu Horikawa, Daisuke Yasumoto, Terumichi Kakazu and Daijiro Izumida going into the weekend play.
Starting at the back, Pagunsan bogeyed the 10th hole but recovered with birdie on 13.
He three-putted 5 and 6 for bogeys, bounced back with back-to-back birdies from 5 before three-putting 7 anew.
After needing 24 putts in the opening round, Pagunsan took 32 putts to complete his round.
Meanwhile, Angelo Que missed the cut after shooting a 74.
The 43-year-old ace made only one birdie against four bogeys to finish 36 holes on 147.
Meanwhile, Miguel Tabuena shot his second-straight 71 to make the cut in the Mandiri Indonesian Open at the Pondok Indah golf course in Indonesia.
Tabuena mixed five birdies against four bogeys to reach the halfway point on 142, nine shots behind joint leaders Berry Henson and Minkyu Kim who carded identical 67s.
