Three helicopters — two from the Philippine National Police and one privately owned — made emergency landings Friday in Quezon province due to bad weather, authorities said Saturday.
The Quezon police provincial office said the private helicopter with two people onboard was the first to make an emergency landing at about 8 a.m. along the coast of Barangay Sabang in the town of Tagkawayan.
The RP-C8500 helicopter came from Legazpi City when its pilot and flight mechanic decided to set it down due to poor visibility because of the heavy rains.
Two PNP Airbus helicopters from Catarman, Samar bound for Manila also made emergency landings in a resort in the town of Pagbilao by 2:30 p.m., again due to poor visibility.
All the crew and passengers of the three helicopters were unharmed.
