Endurance, adventure at Cebu race and fun run

To commemorate Cebu Business Month (CBM), the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) recently organized the Go Race Cebu at the expansive Cebu Safari and Adventure Park in the municipality of Carmen.

With an unexpected turnout of 1,200 participants, the racers were warmly welcomed by Cebu Safari and Adventure Park COO Eduard Loop and CBM 2022 chairperson Brigitte Carmel Lim.

Race director Carlo Sumayang, who is a Spartan SGX and World Coach, briefly enumerated the guidelines and mechanics of the race.

BizHero.ph founder and managing director Queene Rose Dionaldo then spearheaded the 15-minute warm-up exercise before the early-morning kickstart of the 12K and 6K obstacle race and 3K fun run.

Participants of the obstacle races went through 15 types of physical hurdles, including cord crawl, hoist, hand release pushup, slingshot, tire over run, sandbag carry, burpees, squat jump, tire overhead run, memory wall, tire flip, jerry can carry, wire crawl, tire drag and memory wall recitation.

For the 12K obstacle race male division, Sonny Amor clinched first place, followed by Richard Buar and Jascint Paul Almirol.

In the female division, Dominique Wendel Enerio won the top prize, followed by Lizane Abella and Andrea Gaurana.

Mark Mahinay topped the male division for the 6K obstacle race, followed by Rinmarch Gonzaga and Justin Pesons. Among the females, Asia Paraase clocked in first, followed by Cherry Andrin and Julie Baldevarona.

For their dedication, the runners who crossed the finish line received a race singlet, a medal, and goodies from Go Race Cebu’s event partners.

The event was a triple exhilarating treat for the racers — an opportunity to test one’s fitness and endurance, a
first-hand race experience for family and friends, plus an immersive trip to appreciate the delightful sights and sounds of the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park.
