Alas-asin provides stipends for 360 students, SKs

MARIVELES, Bataan — The barangay leadership headed by Captain Dante Malimban has launched a new scholarship program to the poor but deserving students in the in-dustrial barangay of Alas-asin here.

Captain Malimban said providing stipends to 360 students and members of the Sangguniang Kabataan will support the beneficiaries of P5,000 cash assistance every year.

“Aside from scholarship for SK, another 360 students from poor families of barangay Alas-asin will be given P5,000 every year as support for their schooling,” said the statement posted on FB.

“The barangay captain is giving 40 slots to every kagawad, 20 slots for secretary and treasurer and 80 for the barangay captain, said the statement.

The purpose of the program is to help poor students who are legitimate residents of Alas -asin to study in Secondary, College and ALS.

This will also encourage those (youth) who stopped schooling due to financial problems to study again.
