Metro Manila’s daily Covid positivity rate saw an uptick in the past three days ending Thursday, a private research group reported Saturday.
Dr. Guido David said in a tweet that the daily positivity rate in the National Capital Region stood at 17.9 percent, but that “it’s not yet clear if the positivity rate has already peaked.”
“But the trendline looks flat at the moment,” he said. David’s group previously reported that Metro Manila’s one-week positivity rate decreased from 17.4 percent on 6 August to 15.9 percent three days later.
In terms of Covid infections, the positivity rate refers to the percentage of people found positive for Covid-19 compared to the number of individuals tested.
David pointed out that the Covid wave in the country has lasted longer than expected and could extend to the “ber” months.
On Friday, the Philippines logged 4,661 new Covid cases, the highest within the week, increasing the nationwide tally to 3,823,084.
