Senator Grace Poe has tested positive for Covid-19, Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri announced during Wednesday’s plenary session.
Poe is the fourth senator to contract the highly-contagious respiratory disease since the 19th Congress opened last 25 July.
“So far, mild symptoms. Mostly headache,” said Poe.
Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Imee Marcos, and Cynthia Villar also caught the virus earlier.
Last week, the Senate announced it would implement tighter health and security protocols starting 15 August and would last for three weeks.
