Bulacan teen slay suspect identified

The Philippine National Police disclosed on Wednesday that it has already identified a person of interest in the case of 15-year-old Princess Marie Dumantay who was found dead in a grassy area in Bustos, Bulacan.

PNP spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo said that once authorities accomplished all necessary documents, a complaint may be finally filed against the person.

We already have a person of interest regarding this case and we are expecting that once the documents are completed, we may already file a complaint today (Wednesday),” Fajardo said.

She added that police are looking at only one person of interest based on the accounts of witnesses who last saw Dumantay on 10 August.

Fajardo also revealed that the person of interest was a frequent companion of the victim when she went biking in the Quezon City area.

The PNP is waiting for the findings of the medico legal officer who examined Dumantay’s body to determine if she was also sexually assaulted.

To recall, Dumantay was found dead on a grassy roadside in Bustos. Initial reports said that she had cigarette burns on her arms, bruises and strangulation marks.
