NSA Pag-asa island visit ‘a strong stand’

National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos on Thursday assured the public that the government remains firm in its stand to protect the Filipino people as well as the state and its sovereignty.

This, as the NSA chief recently visited the Pag-asa island — one of the disputed territories in the West Philippine Sea.

According to Western Command chief Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos, the NSA chief made her official visit to the Wescom on Wednesday and met with officials before proceeding to Pag-asa island via military aircraft.

“Her visit bespeaks of our common aspiration, strong stand, and unwavering dedication to protecting the people and the state under our responsibility,” said the Wescom chief.

Upon arrival at Pag-asa island, Carlos met with the officials of the local government unit of Kalayaan town, the military, other uniformed personnel and residents.
