Tony Hadley is celebrating 40 years in music with a world tour that includes a Manila stop on 28 September at the Newport World Resorts’ Newport Performing Arts Theater.
The singer rose to prominence with the New Romantics, an underground movement associated with “flamboyant, eccentric fashion” in London adopted by the likes of Duran Duran, A Flock of Seagulls, Boy George, and Hadley’s then band, Spandau Ballet.
Hadley’s voice is forever etched in the memory of ’80s music fans who can easily sing the lyrics to Spandau Ballet classic hits “True,” “Gold,” and “Through the Barricades.”
In the 90s, Hadley pursued a solo career and found his new sound, Euro House music.
