BBM’s Rise of Agri Age no lip service

The President walks his campaign talk with a 40-percent increase in agriculture’s budget.

To wit: P184.1 billion (proposed under the 2023 National Expenditure Program), an P81.6-billion increase from its 2022 NEP allocation.

“Magandang balita po para sa ating mga magsasaka…. Finally nabigyan ng pansin ‘yung agricultural sector; it has been long neglected,” said House Committee on Agriculture chairperson Mark Enverga Tuesday.

Marcos chairs the Agriculture department with a vow to boost the sector against the backdrop of a food crisis.

Enverga, an incumbent representative of Quezon City, is from a province known for its produce, where he renders constituency services to local farmers.

He is confident about the turnout of the budget proposal at the House’s upcoming deliberations on the P5.268-trillion NEP, the DA well-represented at the hearing.
