P10M shabu seized in Caloocan

Authorities seized more than P10-million shabu from a suspected illegal drug pusher after being arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the police in Caloocan City, Thursday morning.

Caloocan City Police chief Col. Samuel Mina Jr., identified the suspect as Mark Anthony Ferrer, 38, married, resident of Simoun Street, Sta. Mesa Heights, Banawe, Quezon City.

Around 5:00 am, when operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Gilmer Mariñas, together with the 6th TMFC RMFB-NCRPO conducted a buy bust operation along Santan St., Almar Subdivision, Barangay 177, where an undercover policeman was able to transact P150,000 worth of drugs with Ferrer.

When the suspect accepted the buy bust money from the police poseur buyer in exchange for a knot tied transparent plastic containing about 100 grams of suspected shabu, the operatives immediately arrested him.

Confiscated from him were approximately 1,600 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P10,880,000.00, buy bust money, and a black handbag.

The suspect will be charged with violation of Sec. 5 or Selling of Dangerous Drugs and Sec. 11 or Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Art. II of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 at the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
