An overnight review of closed-circuit TV camera footage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 tended to show that the baggage of a Filipino passenger was pilfered elsewhere.
The review of the footage at NAIA 3 was conducted by personnel of the Manila International Airport Authority and Etihad Airways Thursday night after a social media content creator complained that some items were stolen from his luggage.
The passenger enplaned to NAIA 3 from Madrid, Spain with stopovers in Paris, France and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the latter via Etihad flight EY 424. He complained about his alleged lost items via the short video platform TikTok.
“I hope this is resolved so that I may retrieve what I worked hard for,” said the passenger in Filipino.
The MIAA said it extended a “sincere apology” to the passenger. The luggage tampering apparently happened not at the NAIA, the MIAA and Eithad said. Etihad pledged to assist the passenger.
