Bong Go commends awardees of Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos of 2022

Senator Bong Go co-sponsored Senate Resolution No. 106 which congratulates and commends the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos of 2022. 

The resolution was unanimously adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, 13 September.

The award was given to teachers, soldiers, and police officers who are regarded as role models for their excellence in their respective fields and the positive changes they bring to society.

In his speech during the Senate regular session on Tuesday, September 14, Go said that the award is a fitting recognition of the professionalism, competence and integrity of the awardees. 

“The four Outstanding Teachers we are honoring today have contributed to the improvement of the quality of education in our country,” Go remarked.

“They have played a significant role in molding the minds of our youth, and shaping the future of our country,” he added.

Among them include Mr. Junmerth Jorta, Bukidnon’s indigenous educator for the indigenous peoples; Ms. Christine Joy Aguila, champion educator for Filipino language instruction; Dr. Mark Nolan Confesor, who initiated the first soft matter and biological physics laboratory in the country; and Ms. Leonila Dans, the country’s first pediatric rheumatologist and one of the first clinical epidemiologists.

Go also recognized the three Outstanding Soldiers and three Outstanding Police for their contributions in maintaining peace and security in the country.

They include Technical Sergeant Joel Tuganan, Central Mindanao’s combat ace and marksman serving in Maguindanao; Colonel Maria Victoria Juan, Army Chief Nurse with 31 years in service; Colonel Stephen Cabanlet, Philippine Marine Corps’ seasoned warrior for peace; Police Executive Master Sergeant Rogelio Rodriguez Jr., CIDG’s expert intelligence operative who was instrumental to the arrest of an international terrorist; Police Captain Rosalino Panlaqui, who is both a chief protector and a community relations advocate; and Police Colonel Lambert Suerte, a PNP Special Action Force commander that led his men to victory during the Marawi Siege.
