Pest control tips to keep your household safe

Keep the kitchen clean

Pests thrive in damp and dirty environments. The best way to prevent pest infestation is to keep the kitchen clean, including stovetops, counters, racks, and drawers. Please do not leave any food particles lying in the open or throw food waste in the waste basket so as not to attract insects from feeding on them. Wipe your kitchen regularly with disinfectant cleaner.

Keep the bathroom clean.

The same rule applies to your bathrooms. Keep them dry and clean. Clean the pot every other day with a toilet cleaner, and keep the shower curtain dry and moss-free to avoid attracting insects. Use a heavy-duty bathroom cleaner to wash the sink at least once weekly.

Ensure the drain is always covered and not clogged with hair and soap particles.

Remove all standing water.

Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water. Check all the drains around your house and clean them of any stagnant and dirty water that will allow mosquitoes carrying mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and malaria to thrive. Ensure your buckets are always dry and eliminate any stagnant water in your air-conditioning units. Clean your AC vessels regularly. Ensure there is no stagnant water anywhere near or in your house.

Throw rotten fruits and vegetables

Overripe fruits and vegetables attract flies and other insects. Avoid keeping cut and ripe fruits out of the refrigerator for long. While some pests like fruit flies are harmless, the overripe, rotting fruits can also attract more significant pests like house flies, ants, and cockroaches which are challenging to eliminate.

The best way to get rid of pests and insects is to stay protected with the help of a specialist. The Manila Pest Control or Mapecon s the country’s most prominent and leader in pest control services.
