378 Caloocan families get homes

The Caloocan City local government turned over a high-density housing project at Gloria Ville, Barangay 178 in a ceremony on Friday afternoon.

Over 378 families were given the homes.

The event was attended by Social Housing Finance Corporation president Federico Laxa and District 1 Rep. Oca Malapitan.

The Housing and Resettlement Office said the beneficiaries were rescued from living in high-risk areas, such as creeks and riverbeds.

In his message, Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan welcomed the recipients and urged them to foster a good community.

“I know that some of the beneficiaries are from other cities; so, welcome to Caloocan! As your mayor, I will make sure that we take care of you. It is also important that you can reconcile with your neighbors. Let’s join in programs for the betterment of your community,” Mayor Malapitan said.

In line with this, Laxa expressed his intention to amplify efforts on local housing, emphasizing the good partnership with the Caloocan LGU.

“SHFC aims to bridge the gap in the housing problem, for not everyone is eligible for a bank or home loan. We’ll target more housing projects, and work with several local governments, including Caloocan, to help our fellow Filipinos,” Laxa said.
