Missing Korean found working as cashier

BAGUIO CITY — For nine months, leaflets and posters decorated public walls and electric posts of the city and announcements and appeals were posted online in search of the male Korean student who was said to be missing.

But the thing is, he was not actually missing as he was finally found safe and sound by the tracker team of the Baguio City Police Office. It was discovered that he was in one of the barangays of the city all the time that he was declared missing.

The Korean national, who was a student of the University of Baguio, was reported missing by her mother at Barangay Camdas Police Station on 12 January this year, after he went to buy Ramen 7 December last year. According to the police, it was the third time that he went missing.

Three of his long-time friends gave the information that he works as a stay-in cashier at a computer shop in T.Alonzo Street, Baguio City. After confirming that the stay-in cashier of a computer shop is the missing Korean national, the tracker team coordinated with his family to be reunited.

The Korean national who works as a stay-in cashier of a computer shop was positively identified by his parents as their son. An interview was conducted regarding the reasons for the Korean national’s disappearance and no clear answer was given.

The Baguio Police vows and assured the public to always be ready to provide assistance and appropriate response to cases of missing persons. The police also earlier also cautioned the public from sharing unverified reports online of such missing persons and let the authorities handle the situation so as not to create unnecessary panic.
