Bataan optimistic on new DEO

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The Department of Public Works and Highways in Bataan lauded the passing of a measure to create a new District Engineering Office.

The measure has mandated the DPWH to have a 3rd engineering district in Bataan which is expected to gain additional funds for infrastructures and services to the province.

It was sponsored by then lawmaker and now Bataan Governor Joet Garcia.

With the creation of the 3rd DEO, Secretary Manuel Bonoan of the Department of Public Works and Highways has appointed a new district engineer of the newly-created district in Bataan.

In his Special Order No. 228 dated 16 September Bonoan designated Engr. Maribel D. Navarro as officer-in-charge of the 3rd District engineering office effective immediately.

“Under and by virtue of this order, Engr. Navarro is directed to perform the duties and assume the responsibilities appurtenant to the position of district engineer,” said Bonoan in his order.

The DPWH secretary stressed that the order “supersedes previous issuances to the contrary and shall take effect immediately.”

Prior to her designation as OIC district engineer, Navarro was the Assistant district engineer of the Bataan 2nd DEO during which she has performed well in her capacity as the number two top official of the department.
