FDCP, int’l film agencies team up for incubator program

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will be joining the Singapore Film Commission, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, and the Film Development Corporation Malaysia for the third session of the incubator program of the Malaysian Development Lab (Mylab) for Fiction Feature Films.

Mylab aims to help scriptwriters, directors, producers working on scripts and other film projects with lectures from regional and international experts. At the end of the program, each project is targeted to have pitch-ready materials.

“Many of our homegrown projects and talents who’ve emerged from the film labs have reaped local and international recognition and support, that is why we know the labs really work,” Tirso Cruz III, chair and chief executive officer of FDCP, said in a statement.

Mother Maybe (Inahing Baka) by director Sonny Calvento with scriptwriters Arden Rod Condez, Sonny Calvento and producer Sheron Dayoc is this session’s participant from the Philippines.

Mylab will take place at Busan, alongside the Asian Contents and Film Market and the Busan International Film Festival. Its first two sessions were held online last June and August.
