Maguindanao drug peddler falls

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Anti-drug operatives from the Datu Anggal Municipal Police Station and Datu Odin Sinsuat MPS arrested an alleged notorious drug peddler in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao and seized from his possession about 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P 680,000.

Police Regional Office for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao director Pol. Brig Gen. John Gano Guyguyon disclosed that authorities conducted the sting operation at Sitio Pendaliday, Poblacion Dalican, Datu Odin Sinsuat on Monday.

Guyguyon identified the drug peddler suspect as Amilodin Guiama Akmad of Barangay Adaon in Datu Anggal Midtimbang, while his three cohorts were able to evade arrest and remain at-large.

Recovered from the suspect were two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 100 grams, two units of digital weighing scale, one bundle of 500 pesos boodle money with one original bill on top and one unit Samsung phone.

The PRO-BAR director said that the suspect was brought to Datu Odin Sinsuat MPS.

In Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu, a female drug suspect fell into an entrapment operation and was arrested for having 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000.

Guyguyon identified the suspect as Siraina Ummal Ahajan alias Ellay Jaliluddin, a resident of Sitio Campagayo, Barangay Pang in Kalingalan Caluang.

Her husband — identified as Basal Jaliluddin Alias Salip Basal and Bas who was also facing a warrant for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition — however, eluded arrest. Both were classified as highly valued targets.

Ellay was also allegedly a supporter of the Abu Sayyaf Group and recognized by the locals as a drug lord in the Municipality of Kalingalan Caluang.

Also seized from Ellay were two fragmentation grenades, seven pieces of 5.56 ammunition, one piece magazine for an M16 rifle, P5,000 cash, illegal drug paraphernalia, and the identification card of Basal Jaliluddin.
