Two persons with disabilities have now undergone inquest proceedings conducted by the Batasan Police after they were arrested for robbing a construction worker on Tuesday night.
Police Lt. Col. Morgan Aguilar confirmed to Daily Tribune on Wednesday that the suspects — identified as Adrian Buanviaje of Barangay Payatas and Cristopher Balmores of Bagong Silang Camarin in Caloocan City — were already inquested following their arrest.
Both suspects are deaf-mute.
Reports from the Batasan Police revealed that the suspects conducted the robbery in Barangay Commonwealth in Quezon City.
Investigation showed that the suspects — riding a motorcycle — held up the victim identified as Denver Vijuan, a construction worker at knife point and took the victims phone and cash amounting to P7,000.
The victim immediately reported the incident to authorities, who then conducted response operations which resulted to the apprehension of the suspects.
The Batasan Police station commander, however, said that they were surprised when they discovered that both suspects are
deaf-mutes, which prompted them to hire a sign language expert during the investigation in order for them to understand.
