The office of Sen. Bong Go continued its efforts to provide emergency assistance to residents displaced by fire incidents, this time delivering aid to Barangay Mambugan in Antipolo City, Rizal.
“Alam namin na mahirap ang panahon ngayon. Nasa gitna tayo ng pandemya at nasunugan pa kayo. Magtulungan tayo at malalampasan din natin itong krisis na ito bilang nagkakaisang mamamayang Pilipino,” Go encouraged the affected families in a video call.
His team held the relief activity at the barangay hall of Brgy. Mambugan on Friday, 21 October. They provided food packs, slippers, umbrellas, snacks and shirts to a total of 86 families.
Select residents received new pairs of shoes. Others were given cellular phones so their children can study better under the blended learning approach, while some received basketballs.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Go pledged to continue working closely with the government to protect the health and well-being of Filipinos by expanding access to affordable healthcare. He encouraged the sick and elderly to visit the nearest Malasakit Center where they may conveniently avail of the medical assistance programs offered by the government.
There are currently 152 centers nationwide, the closest of which are located at the Antipolo City Hospital System Annex IV, Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Memorial Hospital in Rodriguez, Bagong Cainta Municipal Hospital, and Margarito A. Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan.
