Jungkook’s presence on 24 October at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center bound for Qatar confirmed that the BTS member is promoting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
This year’s quadrennial international men’s football championship of the Fédération internationale de Football Association will be held from 20 November to 18 December in the Arabic state of Qatar.
Jungkook, at 25 the youngest member of Korean superstar group BTS, was seen wearing eyeglasses and his signature all-black attire that matched his rock-star long hair.
On 23 September, BTS — said to be football fans — partnered with Hyundai to release a new version of its hip hop single “Yet to Come” to promote the FIFA World Cup.
The video — which endorses the car brand’s “Goal of the Century” campaign — has the group performing the revised track from atop a rooftop as clips of people around the world watching a football game flash on the screen.
The tweaked lyrics go: “We’re going straight to the stars, they never thought we’d make it this far. Now the vision is clear, the Goal of the Century is here.”
