Day one of the Manila edition of the Head in the Clouds Music and Arts Festival lived up to its hype as it dazzled the audience with superb performances.
The crowd fell into hushed silence as young Filipino singer-songwriter Zack Tabudlo rendered “Nangangamba.”
Canadian R&B duo Manila Grey with Filipino rapper Al James delivered an exhilarating set.
One of the most applauded was Japanese group Atarashii Gakko, whose act was both fun and dramatic, standing out further with the uniqueness of its members’ costumes.
The Philippines’ pride SB19 performed “What,” “Mapa” and “Bazinga” amid frenzied adulation of its fans. The group took the opportunity to promote its new single “Nyebe” set for release on 12 December.
Succeeding sets by Thai artist Milli, Japanese pop duo Yoasobi, Korean-American Jessi, and Indonesian Rich Brian likewise drew excitement.
And then it rained. Hard.
Yet nothing could stop Japanese artist Joji as he proceeded to perform “Sanctuary.”
