Yoo gotta believe him

SEOUL, South Korea — DK Yoo struck a menacing fighting pose made famous by Bruce Lee after the official weigh-in Saturday.

At around noon of Sunday, Yoo feels he will get the opportunity to unleash the fury of the punches Lee once threw as he battles Manny Pacquiao in a six-round exhibition match at the KINTEX in nearby Goyang.

Yoo held back his punches and kept mum about a fearless forecast, opting to stick with a message that never goes out of style.

“I will try, I will try,” Yoo said.

Throughout the proceedings, Yoo sounded as though he was vying for honors in a beauty pageant.

“I can’t tell but I will do my best and I will use my movement (to avoid getting hit),” said Yoo, who excels in six martial arts disciplines including judo, wushu and taekwondo.

Yoo, who boasts of a huge social media following, is expected not to pull off a surprise not only because of his limited boxing background but due to the fighter he’s about to face off.

While Pacquiao has been retired from the fight game for 16 months, the Filipino legend made sure he would somehow whip himself into shape for Yoo.

Like Yoo, Pacquiao was hesitant to predict the result and likewise came up with a statement that resembled the ones being delivered by individuals vying for Mister Congeniality.

“All I can say is that it’s going to be an exciting fight for the fans of boxing,” Pacquiao said.

Amidst the hoopla surrounding the event, Yoo insists he is not overwhelmed by the attention and adulation and the electricity being felt in the sunup to Sunday’s slugfest.

“No, I am not nervous. I am just excited,” Yoo told his interviewer.

It was great talking to Yoo.
