One of the most anticipated events of the week-long Sinulog celebration which includes a fluvial cortege participated in by hundreds of yachts, barges, and even ships, the Sunday parade which attracts revelers and merry makers from all walks of life, the pontifical mass amid thousands of devotees of El Señor Santo Niño, is the Miss Cebu pageant, a laudable fund raising project of the City of Cebu and the Cebu City Tourism Commission headed by councilor Joy Pesquera with pageant chair, gifted Cebuano designer, Philip Rodriguez.
This year, 12 lovely ladies will vie for the much coveted title of Ms. Cebu who will serve as an Ambassador of Goodwill and promote Cebu and its neighboring islands as a must visit destination for local and international visitors.
The pre-screened ladies underwent a variety of workshops, as well as a series of seminars and familiarization tours of the city’s historical landmarks and attractions.
Eleven of the 12 candidates, dressed in their own outfits and styled by multi-talented designer Dexter Alazas, spent a day at the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park where they communed with nature and marveled at the real beauty of the world and its thousands of inhabitants on safari.
On 11 January, the lucky and deserving winner of the Miss Cebu 2023 Pageant will start a new chapter in her life, changing her outlook and enriching her growth as a person while balancing the different aspects of both the glamour industry and social services.
