Wave of Rabbit ‘calm’ not for everyone

As the fierce Tiger bids the year goodbye on 21 January 2023, we may anticipate the Rabbit’s peaceful and harmonious nature to rule the Chinese New Year.

Before 2022 wrapped, “Queen of Feng Shui” Marites Allen shared her predictions for the Year of the Water Rabbit in a gathering with aficionados and members of the media at Manila House, Bonifacio Global City, on 28 November.

Expect a spike of births this year.

“Thankfully, the Rabbit is known to be meek and mild, and represents love, peace, and harmony. And the center sector of 2023 has the Romance Star in the middle,” she said. “I hope this is the year that the people who have separated can reconcile. Also, if you have delayed your wedding because of the pandemic, it will be the time for you to do it.”

Allen also stressed that there would be a spike of babies that could be born or conceived this year and “perfectly timed” for the delivery of an equally lucky Year of the Dragon in 2024, as the Rabbit symbolizes fertility.

Hong Kong-based Chinese and Western astrologer Jupiter Lai noted the Year of the Water Rabbit offers much more than an abrupt change from the aggressive Water Tiger. It is “tender, and kind, yet it moves quickly and is very clever,” she said.

postponed weddings due to the pandemic may push through this year.

However, the wave of calm this year will not translate to everyone. Allen said that it could be a “conflict year” for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who was born in 1957, the Year of the Fire Rooster.

Luck could be unfavorable as the Rooster is the only one that strongly clashes with the Rabbit. Allen warns the President to be extra careful and hopes that the country’s economic team will be able to “contain all the difficulties that will come” to the country facing high inflation and Covid-19.

However, Mr. Marcos may count on the year of the Rabbit to be true to its nature of being the bearer of peace. The feng shui master projected this year to mend international conflict.

the wave of calm this year will not translate to those born during the Year of the Fire Rooster.

“There could be truce in war-torn countries, or governments could agree on some international alliances and coordination, rather than engaging in any more fights and discord,” she said.

Other than the Rooster, unlucky signs are the Ox, Tiger, Dragon, and Snake. Allen warns the Ox and Tiger of a possible series of unfortunate events. It could be threats of robbery, losses, or possible injuries. Dragons could face heartaches and misunderstanding inflicted by hostile energies. The Snake, way beyond the emotionally taxing heartaches, could experience a lawsuit and plenty of quarreling.

Even though this year is dedicated to the Rabbit, people are nonetheless cautioned to not block a possible money gain or a job promotion. Just like the Rabbit, the Dog carries a potential risk to their health.

The signs of who could strike gold this year are Rat, Horse, Sheep, Boar, and Monkey. All heads to self-discovery, better relationships, and the blessing of good fortune.

Attract more luck
Water colors such as blue, purple, and black are said to be lucky this year, according to Feng Shui Master Hanz Cua in an episode of Pamilya Talk.

He recommends adding touches of blue, especially during the first month of the year, in your homes to welcome good fortune. You can incorporate secondary lucky colors like metal colors of gold, silver, and grey or jewelry to your wardrobe.

For those who are venturing into business and veterans in the industry, Master Hanz has good news for you.

The Year of the Water Rabbit is set to be a prosperous one in comparison to 2022’s Tiger in terms of money and wealth. Since Rabbits are sociable in nature, this is the ideal year for developing networks to enhance money luck.

This year favors long-term and stable careers, as well as online jobs and businesses, such as online sellers and vloggers.

To further wage your luck, he advises everyone, with the exception of those who were born in the Year of the Rooster, to install a rabbit charm on the east side of their residence or place of business.
