Angel Fenton turns 18

A budding artist majoring in Multimedia Arts in the College of Saint Benilde, Angel Fenton turned 18 yesterday, 13 January, but she is celebrating her entry into adulthood today, the 14th, in a dinner with cocktails at the Diplomatic Hall of the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City.

Hosted by her parents, Ian Grant and Marissa Fenton, the Havana Nights-themed affair will be attended by friends and family who are expected to don the outfits prescribed in the invite, the ladies in off-shoulder neckline, ruffles and fringes (but not in red or fuchsia) and the gentlemen,  in guayabera, long sleeves with Cuban-style hats.

Expectedly, the celebrator will wear the most beautiful get-up for the night, described by her mom Marissa “as a colorful one with Latin influence,” designed by Chynna Mamawal, a young designer recognized by fashion observers as one “emerging with utmost grace and confidence–two characteristics embodied by her designs.”

An only daughter, Angel admits to being like “my mother with whom I share the same mindset towards life, and my father whose behavioral traits I seem to have gotten much of.” She and her parents bond by dining out on Sundays.

Of her big brother, 37-year old Jose Mari Ian or “Notsky”, she speaks tons of praises because “he is a scholar taking his MBA in Boston where he is specializing in artificial intelligence or AI.”

LIKE mother, like daughter — vibrant, beautiful, and friendly.

For her college major, Angel “picked multimedia arts because the course covers various arts, which fits me because I’ve always been drawn to the arts even when I was still a child.”

Keen on doing her best in her studies, she says that “my greatest accomplishment in life so far is my having been able to keep up with the requirements of the course I am pursuing.”

Angel, a history enthusiast, finished her elementary and high school at the De la Salle Zobel in Alabang. As a child, she enjoyed photography and gymnastics. In the recent years, she has been spending more of her recreation time in jogging and driving, even as she has remained passionate about photography and the arts.

She counts among her best and closest friends “RJ, Krysta, Mae, DJ, and Enzo, with whom I hang out when we feel like bonding.”
