The Employees Compensation Commission on Wednesday disclosed that at least 316,000 claimants have been given total claims amounting to P1.9 billion as of September last year.
ECC executive director Jomar Batino said that among the P1.9 billion worth of claims, P1.6 billion was given to 252,374 claimants in the private sector while P311.2 million was awarded to 64,312 claimants.
“Our systems have released P1.9 billion which are benefits from the Social Security System and the Government Service Insurance System,” Batino said in a Laging Handa briefing.
He also reported that P248 million worth of assistance have been given to 24,693 claimants who have contracted Covid-19 in the line of duty, with each assistance worth P10,000.
