Las Piñas City eyes zero mental health cases

The city government of Las Piñas has launched a campaign to eliminate mental health cases among residents.

The campaign with the theme “Kalungkutan ay Agapan, Kabataan ay Protektahan” addresses mental and reproductive health issues affecting adolescents, City Health Office chief Dr. Julie Gonzalez has said. City Mayor Imelda Aguilar, Vice Mayor April Aguilar and Alelee Aguilar-Andanar, wife of former Presidential Communications Operations Office secretary Martin Andanar, participated in the kick-off program of the campaign held at the Verdant covered court in Barangay Pamplona 3.

Around 400 junior and senior high school students, out of school youths and the Sangguniang Kabataan joined the program.

Mayor Aguilar wanted to come up with a project helping persons with mental issues brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, Gonzalez said.

“Mayor Aguilar is very much supportive of the health of every resident especially the youth which is part of her health advocacy,” she said.
