Cainta refurbishes crematorium

The local government of Cainta, Rizal has refurbished the town’s crematorium, municipal administrator Keith Nieto said.

“After almost three years of continuous use of it, we need to replace the burners of our crematorium. We’re down time last week. It was forbidden to die in those days,” Nieto said in jest.

He said the installation of the new burners is nearing completion.

“The entire area has been refurbished,” he added.

Cainta has been offering free cremation to indigent residents who cannot afford to bury their dead as part of the local government’s “from womb to tomb” services.

The local government has also built columbariums to decongest the town’s cemeteries.
