The National Housing Authority on Thursday reported that it has awarded housing units in Orion, Bataan, to 216 families who lost their homes from fires and those living along the waterways.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Rizalino Acuzar led the turnover ceremonies as he stressed that the project is part of the national government’s initiative to address the six million housing backlog of the country through the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Acuzar added that the NHA has committed to building 1.3 million housing units for the informal settler families and the country’s poor Filipino families within the six-year term of the Marcos administration as NHA’s share to help address the increasing demand for housing.
“Let these lead you to a way in building a brand future for your family. Cherish this government’s gift, a new home for your family,” Acuzar told the beneficiaries.
Located in 1-Bataan Village Phase 1 project, Barangay Daan Pare, Orion, Bataan, the housing projects are six three-storey, low-rise buildings composed of 36 units per building, measuring 27 square meters per unit.
Joining Acuzar at the event was NHA regional manager for Region 3 Minerva Calantuan, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Second District Representative Albert Raymond Garcia, Third District Representative Ma. Angela “Gila” S. Garcia, Bataan Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III, Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, Orion Mayor Anthonio Raymundo Jr. and NHA Pampanga/Bataan/Zambales district manager Engr. Rogie C. Pineda.
