Spy drones for only $1

An American manufacturer of a reconnaissance drone has offered to sell two such units to Ukraine for only $1.

General Atomic Aeronautical Systems has been calling on the United States government to approve the sale of its Grey Eagle and Reaper drones that the US military used in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and other conflict zones.

The offer comes with a training aircraft, a ground control station and other hardware.

General Atomics chief executive Linden Blue said in a statement the company also has offered to train Ukrainians to operate the drones at no cost.

“From our perspective, it is long past time to enable Ukrainian forces with the information dominance required to win this war,” he said.
