10 years of Park ’N Fly

Richard Limcaco does not leave home to play golf without bringing an icebox cooler that contains several bottles of Gatorade and San Miguel Beer, and sandwiches which he generously shares with his playing partners.

He drives a four-seat golf cart and uses a range finder before making every shot.

This attention to detail makes Limcaco a successful businessman, not to mention a serious golfer.

He just turned 60, though he doesn’t look anywhere near his age.

He helps run the family-owned first-of-its-kind parking garage strategically located near airport terminals in Pasay City.

RICHARD Limcaco is an avid golfer whose family owns Park ‘N Fly.

The chairman and president of Park ‘N Fly is Limcaco’s father, Conrado.

Since its opening in 2013, Park ‘N Fly has been a favorite destination for air travelers who don’t wish to go through the hassle of commuting to and from the airport.

Following the completion of a second building across its original location, Park ‘N Fly can now accommodate several hundred cars at any given time.

The convenience that it provides — valet and shuttle services — makes Park N’ Fly a better alternative to airport parking.

For one, cars are housed in a secured, covered parking area. Each car is covered by insurance.

All car owners have to do is drive there, leave their car keys to parking attendants who will do the parking, and ride the shuttle service to the airport. Once they return from their trips, they will be fetched at the airport and bring them back to their cars.

The concept was taken from off-airport car parks in Canada where Limcaco lived for eight years as a student.

As a complementary business, Park ‘N Fly also offers car repairs and services for clients and walk-in customers.

The two car park buildings also house several tenants, including banks.

“That kept us afloat through the height of the pandemic,” Limcaco said. “Since travel was restricted, there were virtually zero customers for more than a year.”

The easing of Covid-19 protocols last year triggered a wave of travelers that brought life back to Park ‘N Fly.

“It did not happen gradually, it was overnight. Boom! We were back in business,” Limcaco said.

These days, the two garages are full during weekends.

“There were times we had to turn back customers because the parking spaces were already full,” he said. “We were forced to lease nearby open parking spaces to accommodate the demand and we always tell our customers if their cars would be parked outside the building.”

Limcaco said most of their customers are now young executives out for “revenge travels.” Some ex-pats park their vehicles for as long as six months when they are away.

Park ‘N Fly has not had a major incident since it began operation, one thing which Limcaco is grateful for.

Expansion is on the drawing table.

“We are looking for a location close to the new airport that is being built in Bulacan,” he said.

He is not about to slow down, whether working or playing golf.

If golf is a good indicator of a man’s character, Limcaco is not the type to fold up if faced with adversity.

He has a good temperament and doesn’t show frustration over a bad shot. He is quick to commend a good shot and has a quick smile.

Park ‘N Fly is in good hands.
