After opening a dialysis center in Balambam Provincial Hospital with 10 dialysis units, the province of Cebu is set to open another two centers that will cater to patients coming from the north and south of the province.
This was announced on Sunday by the Medtronix Medical Supplies and Equipment as they presented plans before the Economic Enterprise Council chaired by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
The firm assured that if the construction timeline is met, both centers are expected to accommodate kidney failure patients of the province as early as March this year.
The constructions of the two dialysis centers are now ongoing in Danao and Carcar provincial hospitals.
Once completed, the delivery, installation and testing of the hemodialysis equipment will then follow.
In December 2022, Garcia signed a memorandum of agreement with Medtronix for the installation and maintenance of 30 regular hemodialysis machines which would be divided evenly to Danao and Carcar provincial hospitals.
The agreement states that Medtronix will equip the two dialysis centers with needed support systems such as direct feed reverse osmosis machine, water pre-treatment system and 15 recliner chairs among others.
It will also provide two technicians for each of the dialysis centers as well as two back up dialysis units.
The province of Cebu has invested further into upgrading the province’s healthcare infrastructure to improve the medical services for the Cebuanos by putting up dialysis centers.
Medtronix is engaged in the operation of hemodialysis centers in the country which include one at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for the past 20 years.
