Filipino Lukresia struts in star-studded Mugler show

Filipino queer model and designer Lukresia slayed the runway at the Mugler Ready-to-Wear FW ‘23-’24 Fashion Show on 26 January, in La Villete, Paris, France.

Born in Asturias, Cebu, Lukresia (named Luke Quismundo at birth) has been building a following on social media (thirdworldbb in Instagram) with fashion shoots in which they create couture looks using found objects, household items, leaves, and even trash, many inspired by the designs of the French label founded by Thierry Mugler.

They got noticed by local fashion circles and modeled for designers such as Carl Jan Cruz. They were then tapped by Mugler to model a piece from the Mugler Wolford Collection by the fashion house’s creative director, Casey Cadwallader, pictures of which were posted on Mugler’s Instagram account (@muglerofficial).

Lukresia then joined other models and celebrities for the Mugler show during the Haute-Couture Spring-Summer 2023 Fashion Week, which was in time for the first death anniversary of the French fashion designer, who passed away on 23 January 2022 at the age of 73.

Celebrities walking at the Cadwallader’s debut fashion show, which was tinged with the macabre and dominated by leather and lace, included Pose star Dominique Jackson, comedian and writer Ziwe Fumudoh, Venezuelan pop star Arca, and models Debra Shaw, Irina Shayk, Amber Valletta, and Mariacarla Boscono.

Spotted watching the show were Kylie Minogue, Lisa Rinna, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 winner Symone, and Charlie XCX.
