Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific expects to see a boost in travel demand to Taiwan after Covid-19 protocols for inbound travelers have been eased.
Cebu Pacific currently flies the Manila — Taipei — Manila route daily, allowing every Juan to visit the much-missed destination known for its bubble tea and dim sum dishes any day they want.
Visa-free
Until 31 July, Filipino tourists can travel to Taiwan visa-free and can stay for up to 14 days.
Travelers are no longer required to present a negative Covid-19 test result and proof of vaccination prior to arrival to Taiwan.
However, those who test positive before their visit need to defer their flights for at least five days from their test date.
Taiwan, which is just a two-hour flight from the Philippines, is home to the famous Shilin Night Market which hosts a wide variety of souvenir stores and food stalls.
Cebu Pacific is set to restore 100 percent of its pre-Covid network and capacity in March 2023. It now flies to 34 domestic destinations and is set to restore all its 25 international destinations in the first quarter of the year.
