Bataan dialysis patients receive boost

MARIVELES, Bataan — A total of 87 dialysis patients from a dialysis center in Barangay Lucanin here were given one voucher each for free dialysis treatment.

According to GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co., this is part of the company’s Project Saysay, a community outreach program that lets employees take the lead in providing assistance to their chosen community or group.

The employees of GMEC who are celebrating their birthdays on the month of January chose these 87 dialysis patients who are from the St. Nicholas Dialysis Center.

The employees decided to provide the dialysis patients with one voucher for free dialysis treatment that is the primary need of the beneficiary.

Meantime, administration manager Rowena Batac expressed gratitude to the company for being an effective instrument of hope and touching the hearts of communities in Mariveles.

Batac also mentioned that it was their first time witnessing an organization that helped their dialysis center.

Project Saysay aims to be an avenue for collective action of employee volunteers while uplifting the communities it serves.

GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. is a private limited partnership registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission since 2007. It is a special purpose entity organized to engage in the development, construction, operation, and ownership of the 2×345 MW (gross) clean coal-fired power plant in Mariveles, Bataan, Philippines.

GMEC achieved commercial operation on 27 January 2014 for its two units and it operates under the private limited partnership of AboitizPower’s Therma Power Inc. and AC Energy Holdings Inc., Ayala Corporation and Power Partners Ltd. Co.
