Busy night for QC drug operatives

At least 17 drug suspects who yielded a total of P198,040 worth of illegal drugs were arrested Wednesday in a series of buy-bust operations by different police stations of the Quezon City Police District.

QCPD Director, Police Brigadier General Nicolas D Torre III, reported that one of the buy-bust operations was conducted by the District Drug Enforcement Unit at No. 19 Albany St., Brgy. Silangan, Cubao, Quezon City.

DDEU Chief, Police Major Hector Ortencio, identified the suspects as Joris Tabo, 35, and Jeffrey Uy, 53, both residents of the barangay. The suspects yielded 16 grams of shabu worth P108,800, one cellular phone, as well as marked money.

Meanwhile, 15 other drug suspects were arrested by authorities elsewhere in the city.

The La Loma Police Station under Colonel Romil Avenido nabbed Sonny Bedlani, a 52-year-old resident of Brgy. Tatalon; Jimmy Borjel of Brgy. Novaliches, and one 17-year-old boy, who all yielded 30 grams of shabu valued at P2,040.

The Masambong Police Station under Colonel Resty Damaso arrested Joseph Dela Cruz, a resident of Brgy. Paltok; Manny Sy, 60, a resident of Brgy. Damayan; and Niño Jesselo Irasga, 35, a resident of Brgy. Corazon De Jesus, Quezon City. Seized from the suspects was approximately three grams of shabu worth P20,400.

Over in Talipapa Police Station under Colonel Mark Janis Ballesteros, police arrested Avelino Labenia, 55; and Lorna Ababao, 48. Both Labenia and Ababao are residents of Brgy. Tandang Sora. Also nabbed was Rizaldy Pecaña, 36, a resident of Brgy. Culiat. They were collared in Denmark Street, Upper Banlat, Brgy. Tandang Sora, with approximately two grams of shabu valued at P13,600.

Along Regalado Ave., corner Bulova St. in Brgy. Greater Fairview, the Fairview Police Station under Colonel Elizabeth Jasmin arrested William Villanueva, 28, a resident of Brgy. Pasong Tamo, who yielded eight grams of shabu worth P11,200.

In yet another buy-bust operation, operatives of Batasan Police Station under Col. Morgan Aguilar arrested Jerome Latag Tomagan, 22, a resident of Kalayaan B, Barangay Batasan Hills who was nabbed along Libis Extension corner Kalayaan B, Barangay Batasan Hills with P34,000 worth of shabu.

Along Maningning St., corner Matino St. in Brgy. Teacher Village West, the Anonas Police Station under Colonel Reynaldo Vitto arrested a 16-year-old who yielded 10 grams of marijuana valued at P1,200.

And over at Project 6 Police Station under Colonel Richard Mepania, they arrested  Rodolfo Santos Jr, 54, of Fort Santiago St., Brgy Sto. Cristo; Catherine Belleza, 39, of Samar St., Brgy. Alicia; and Aldrin Ramer, 35. They were collared in front of a house in Samar St. Confiscated from the suspects was one gram of shabu valued at P6,800.

The suspects were charged with violation of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Torre III commended his men for their continuous and aggressive anti-drug and anti-criminality operations.

“Patuloy ang ating mahigpit na kampanya laban sa illegal na droga at kriminalidad upang atin itong masugpo. Muli, hinihingi ko po ang kooperasyon ng ating mga mamamayan na magsumbong kung may alam na iligal na gawain sa kani-kanilang mga lugar,” he said.
