Fifth Wall Fest, the country’s premier platform for dance on camera, extends its reach through Art Fair Philippines 2023 to be held from 17 to 19 February at The Link, Makati City.
Fifth Wall Fest presents Pwesto. Teka… Rampa!, a multimedia exhibit that highlights the interplay between the creative fields of fashion, photography, art, and dance. It allows its audience to experience the visceral feelings evoked by moving bodies within and beyond the frames.
“We are thrilled to be making our debut at this year’s Art Fair,” said Madge Reyes, Fifth Wall Fest founder and festival director. “Being here only reinforces our mission to make dance more accessible to a wide range of individuals within and beyond the community. A nod to the dance present in everyday life, guests can anticipate a treat for the senses as we express movement exclusively crafted for the fair. The line between performer and spectator will be blurred.”
The exhibit will be a mix of a physical booth installation and a site-specific performance.
Taking inspiration from the meaning of the word, “Pwesto” is a physical space that will feature works from Koji Arboleda’s “Always On My Mind” and Renzo Navarro’s “Plus Minus,” both are exclusive photo collections for Fifth Wall Fest. The booth, located on the 7th floor of The Link, will also showcase an installation made in collaboration with Carl Jan Cruz.
In an effort to resurface the everyday presence of movement, Rampa! is a site-specific performance by Fifth Wall Fest that integrates dance, fashion, art, and everyday life taking shape. Witness a variety of motions emanating from a singular movement on 17 February at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the reception area of Art Fair Philippines. For more details, visit fifthwallfest.com.
