President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued an executive order renaming the Presidential Complaints and Action Office as the Presidential Action Center, Malacañang announced on Friday.
Executive Order 15 — signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on 8 February but promulgated only on Friday — said that the PCAO was established via Executive Order 442 in the Office of the President to serve as the command center and liaison unit of the OP with various agencies on all requests for assistance and complaints from the general public.
EO 15 also said that EO 447 had renamed PCAO as PACe, while EO 9 further renamed PACe as the Presidential Complaint Center.
“In addition to coordination and liaison work, the nature and scope of the work of the PCC also includes providing public assistance and social services such as addressing complaints against government processes and various requests for assistance… there is a need to rename the PCC to ensure that its name is consistent with the nature and scope of its work,” the latest order read.
The office was also placed under the direct control and supervision of the Strategic Action and Response Office under the Office of the Cabinet Secretary.
