Business tycoon Manny Pangilinan and major Japanese investor Mitsui & Co. are committing to invest $600 million to help the Marcos administration in developing infrastructures in the country, Malacañang said on Sunday.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, Pangilinan discussed the investment pledge with the President during a dinner meeting last Wednesday in Tokyo.
Pangilinan was quoted as saying that his firm has signed an agreement with Mitsui and several parties and management to commit to investing $600 million in infrastructure programs.
PCO added that Mitsui & Co. eyes investments in priority sectors of the administration of President Marcos, particularly in agriculture, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
