Conveniently located near the corner of EDSA and Taft Avenue in Pasay City, Kabayan Hotel is one of the most preferred hotels for travelers, particularly overseas Filipino workers, who are flying out of Metro Manila. Located just minutes away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, it is a popular choice for those who want to avoid the mega city’s horrendous traffic and to skirt around the dearth in efficient transportation.
Those from the provinces, as well as event organizers and attendees, book at Kabayan as it also near government offices, employment agencies, malls and the MRT and LRT. Its rates are affordable.
The hotel has an ample array of rooms types to suit different budgets, such as dorm rooms and team accommodations, Pad Rooms for backpackers and seamen, and Japanese-style capsule rooms, bringing in its own innovation as well as more options to the hospitality industry.
On 20 January, Kabayan Hotel celebrated its 22nd anniversary, unveiling a spanking new building, elevating its services and offerings. The new property, just beside the old one, is much taller with more rooms and room types. Each room provides ample space with decent features. Several rooms are well-appointed enough that they can be used for staycations such as the Mabuhay Suites on the upper floors. Aside from the standard rooms, it also has new budget-friendly Pad Rooms and the Kapsule Rooms.
Noteworthy about the new building are the design elements, which are decidedly Filipiniana. A revolving glass door ushers in guests to the lobby, handsome with wood and capiz shell accents. The hallways are decorated with rattan solihiya panels. The front desk is furnished with marble and hardwood.
On the other hand, popular Filipino dishes are served at Salo, including crispy pata, kare-kare, and mechado. The restaurant also offers a meryenda buffet every afternoon at P249 per person. The spread includes arroz caldo, ginataang mais, and garlic sotanghon, as well as street snacks such as fish balls, kikiam, and kakanin.
For different occasions, meetings and business functions, the new building has the Salo function room that can accommodate up to 150 guests. The rooftop will be opened soon as a venue for special celebrations.
“At Kabayan hotel, we welcome our guests much like we welcome visitors at home. We want to make their stay as convenient for them as possible,” general manager Raymund Aves said.
The hotel offers additional services fit for OFWs. One of these is an OFW Help Desk that can refer their government agency-related inquiries or assist them with processing and printing their documents on-site. There are even weighing scales available at the luggage packing area located at the lobby.
“We have noticed our guests struggling to pack their belongings before leaving for the airport, and we want to be able to help them start their journey with less worries,” Aves said.
He further said, “At Kabayan Hotel, our tagline has been ‘kasabayan niyo kami,’ whether they are at the start of their journey as aspiring OFWs staying at our dorms and Kapsules, or returning overseas workers who have been able to save up for our Standard Superior Rooms and now, our Suite rooms, we are able to host them as they relax and bond with their families.”
“As we embark on the next 22 years, we are continuously innovating our trusted Filipino hospitality brand, offering improved services and brand new rooms to fellow Filipinos, while keeping to our promise of ‘sulit’ and ‘alaga.’ To continue serving and growing our market, we are evolving our hotel products and services with the tagline, ‘Bagong Kabayan Para sa Bagong Makabayan.’ We would like to invite and welcome more guests who are looking for a relaxing, safe, and comfortable stay at every stage of their success journey,” Aves added.
