Cebuano street skateboarder Margielyn Didal is now engaged to her longtime girlfriend, Jozel Manzanares. She shared photos of the engagement on her Instagram account (@margielyndidal) on 21 February, writing: “Yes or YES?!! Happy 8th anniversary mybytch and cheers to our new Begingneng (beginning).”
The engagement happened at the recreational complex Soul Sierra in the upland barangay of Bagbag 1 in Cebu City, where she had her own custom skate park.

Twenty-three-year-old Didal came to prominence when she won a gold medal at the Asian Games in 2018. She went on to compete at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, where she won two gold medals in women’s Game of Skate and street skateboarding. She also competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, where she placed seventh. In a video for the Olympics, she acknowledged the support of her girlfriend.
Didal was named Women’s Asia Skater of the Year in 2021.
