‘An Inconvenient Love’ is #1 Pinoy film on Netflix

The Star Cinema film An Inconvenient Love has quickly risen to the top of Netflix’s trending movie list after being released on the streaming platform.

According to the Netflix website, “An Inconvenient Love” is now first in the Philippines, followed by the K-drama Unlocked and the thrillers The Bank Job and The Strays.
Director Petersen Vargas has thanked viewers for the movie’s immediate popularity on the platform.

Vargas tweeted alongside star Donny Pangilinan’s recent chat: “YES @donnypangilinan our movie’s #1 on Netflix PH as of today #AnInconvenientLove,” congratulating him on the achievement.

The movie An Inconvenient Love came out in theaters on 23 November 2022. Starring the next-generation love team of Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the film marked ABS-CBN’s return to physical theaters after a two-year absence due to the pandemic. The production team also chose indie-film director Petersen Vargas to helm the studio’s 30th anniversary film.

Written by Enrico Santos and Daisy Cayanan, “An Inconvenient Love” depicts the story of two young individuals who decide to have a casual relationship, an arrangement that becomes inconvenient as their romance approaches its expiration date.

DonBelle, as the Pangilinan-Mariano duo is called, is reportedly getting their first-ever teleserye as a love team with Can’t Buy Me Love, following the success of their series He’s Into Her and their breakthrough film Love Is Color Blind.
