Japan, Australia, Phl, US joint patrol in WPS ‘possible’ — envoy
The Philippines can hold stronger maritime patrols as Australia and Japan have signified their intention to join the country’s West Philippine Sea patrols with the United States.
According to a report by Reuters, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez said the country is currently negotiating with Australia and Japan to join with the US in conducting coast guard patrols in the disputed waters in the WPS.
Romualdez said meetings with the concerned officials from both parties have been set.
