Teehankee reappointed

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reappointed Manuel Antonio Teehankee as Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, Malacañang announced Tuesday.

Teehankee’s reappointment came two months after his appointment was deferred by the Commission on Appointments last December.

The deliberation for his appointment was deferred by the powerful Constitutional body pending his submission of documents that had been signed to settle the trade disputes between the Philippines and Thailand.

Marcos first tapped Teehankee for the position in July last year.

Teehankee, who is also a lawyer, held the same position under the administrations of former Presidents Rodrigo Duterte and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Meanwhile, the Presidential Communications Office also released a new list of Palace appointees.

Marcos tapped Andrew Rodolfo Orais and Jose Elumba as DA Directors IV and III, respectively.

Frederick Amores was named as DICT Director IV while Sittie Rahma Alawi, Reynaldo Sy and Jocelyn Tendenilla were all appointed as Director III.

The president also named Leonila Baluyut as Assistant Secretary of the DTI, while Marlo Guloy and Benjamin Madrigal Jr. were tapped as Deputy Directors-General of the NSC.
