It’s that time of the year again! The much-awaited event that brings the most amazing people together: People of the Year 2023 Awards Night.
The pre-party part is one of my favorites — getting dolled up! We were asked to arrive fabulously in our Filipiniana outfits, and everyone gave different interpretations and versions. We saw everything from classic to modern, patterned to bejeweled. Lots of chic and creative looks from Manila’s most influential bunch!
The talented Dave Sandoval transformed the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Manila into an amazing setting that matched the theme perfectly. He expertly used fresh greens and blooms, coupled with wood and Capiz accents for that touch of Pinoy beauty.
I joined familiar faces with cocktail glass, conversation starters, and my clutch bag in hand while waiting for the start of the program. PeopleAsia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez kicked off the night with words of positivity. She said it’s time for sweet revenge with revenge parties, revenge travel, and more. Well said! We all would love to finally say adios to Covid!
The well-deserving winners got their time to shine, too. Wine kept pouring as the celebration kept going. Two thumbs up of course to one of our faves, Tita Helen Ong, who was awarded along with many other outstanding people. Congratulations to everyone!
