GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Department of Agriculture in Region 12 disclosed on Friday that at least five towns in South Cotabato and its component city Koronadal are still being ravaged by the African swine fever.
The DA-12 said that from 28 March to 3 April, the towns of Banga, Surtallah, Norala, Tantangan and Sto. Niño still belong to the red zone or infected areas. Its capital city Koronadal also belonged to the infected zone.
The city of General Santos and its nearby town Polomolok already got a dark green zone or free zone for ASF.
In the nationwide data by the DA, there are 315 municipalities and cities that were upgraded into Pink or buffer zones following their infected status.
